Matthew is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Matthew earned his Bachelor’s in Psychology from SUNY Cortland and his Master’s degree in Social Work from University at Albany. Matthew provides psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, couples, and families. He specializes in using evidence-based strategies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Other areas of focus include depression, anxiety, self-esteem, anger management, and relationship issues. Matthew has worked in a variety of settings including, not-for-profit agencies, forensics, hospital settings, private practice and a major medical institution. He is currently treating patients ages 13 and above.
Matthew’s goal as a therapist is to help you make sense of difficult past experiences and make meaningful changes in your life. He strives to work collaboratively to help you acquire the tools needed to make progress towards your goals. He works to personalize each therapeutic experience to meet his clients’ needs, strengths, and goals. Sessions often focus on helping clients gain insight into patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving and learning to modify those unhelpful and maladaptive patterns to improve mental health and quality of life. Matthew understands that people are often feeling “stuck” and struggling to make sense of what they are experiencing. Matthew is here to accompany you on your journey to self-actualization.
