Kate Evanico is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who earned her Masters of Social Work from the University of Albany. Kate has over a decade of experience working with individuals with various mental health and substance use disorders. Her experience has primarily been within a hospital setting, in which she has developed skills to help individuals experiencing mental health crises get back to a place of health and stability. She has also worked with non-profit agencies within the community and has experience providing both group and individual therapy.
Kate specializes in the evaluation and treatment of adults (ages 18 and up) struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, co-occurring substance use disorders, and various life transitions. Kate also enjoys working with couples to help navigate difficult periods within their relationships and work towards healthier, more effective communication. Kate works with individuals to develop a therapeutic approach that is going to best help them achieve their own personal goals. She is familiar with and incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.)
