Dr. Nevedal is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who earned her doctorate at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. She completed her clinical internship at West Virginia University Dept. of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, and a fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology at VA Connecticut/Yale Dept. of Psychiatry. She is a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, and APA Div. 38- Health Psychology. She has published and presented research on chronic pain, medication adherence, and clinical interventions. Dr. Nevedal specializes in evaluation and treatment of adults with anxiety disorders, OCD, BFRBs (hair pulling and skin picking), trauma/PTSD, mood disorders, insomnia, binge eating, obesity, and chronic illness/pain conditions. She has specialized training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (including exposure therapies for OCD, phobias, and trauma). Dr. Nevedal is a graduate of TLC’s Virtual Professional Training Institute for the treatment of hair pulling (Trichotillomania) and skin picking. She is committed to the evidence-based practice of psychology integrating empirically supported therapies and empirically supported therapy relationships, with consideration for patient characteristics, culture and preferences.
